Curriculum
A well-designed curriculum can offer opportunities for pupils at all ages to move beyond the experience they bring to school and to acquire knowledge that is not tied to that experience and allow learners to develop POWERFUL KNOWLEDGE.
The ambition of our Professional Learning Institute (PLI) is to enable all colleagues from across Summit Learning Trust to access and engage with high quality, evidence informed Professional Learning, to help them in being the best version of themselves, and in delivering the best opportunities for our children and young people. Professional Learning opportunities linked to curriculum development are key to achieving this ambition.
Colleagues have the opportunity to work together in developing the curriculum through Curriculum Conferences, Networks of Excellence meetings, Moderation events and through regular departmental meetings. Additionally, Summit Lead Practitioners are curating subject bundles which support colleagues in building their own subject knowledge aswell as the Pedagogical Content Knowledge which is required to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for our children and young people.
