Research clearly supports that schools need many leaders at many levels. Effective leaders influence the effectiveness of the school and the achievements of pupils. Successful leadership helps improve teacher performance as a direct means of improving pupil learning, and the leaders performance influences a teachers’ believe, values, motivations, skills and knowledge and subsequently the conditions in which they work. It is our responsibility as leaders to build vision and set directions, understand and ‘develop people’. With the many levels of leadership there is opportunity for it to have a wider distribution of responsibility.

The first step into the leadership development pathway is to use our self auditing tool to reflect upon your own strengths and the your personally identified areas for improvement. Using the tool you will be able to reflect and discuss your opportunities for CPD this year.
